ASI’s Internet Solution Simplifies Utilities’ Workloads

ASI’s Customer Internet Solution, called eAccess, runs on the IBM eServer iSeries. Because of this, it directly interfaces to the ASI Utility Database and is easy for utilities to set up and use.

With eAccess, there is no uploading or downloading of data files to make information available to customers. This creates endless customer service possibilities, which ultimately decrease customer inquiries to the utility provider’s customer service departments.

Online Customer Payments with eAccess

Some benefits include:

  • When a utility updates billing, it is immediately reflected in the eAccess system, and the customer could access it in real time via the Internet.
  • If a customer pays a bill via eAccess, the payment is immediately reflected on the account, even if the utility has not posted payments for the day. This allows the utility to catch payments that may not have posted yet, avoiding unnecessary cutoffs and extra work down the road.
  • Customers can review their billing, payment and other history of their accounts any time, at their convenience.
  • Customers can enter a preliminary service order to move out, move in, or any other request that would then be reviewed by a CSR to verify the information with the customer. This allows the CSR to review the request on their time table and generate a service order with minimal effort.

The system also can provide customers with additional information upon request as well, to include an e-bill, a delinquent notice via email, and an email reminder before their account balances become overdue.
